Harvest Moon: Back to Nature Animals
There are 3 different animals in Harvest Moon Back to Nature that you can make money off of: Chickens, Sheep, and Cows. Theres also your horse & dog which live on your farm. Heres some info on each.
Chickens:
Chickens are the cheapest of the three animals. They lay eggs daily, which can be turned into Mayonnaise after you have the the mayonnaise maker but they only lay eggs if you feed them. When chickens get sick they turn a brownish color and dont lay eggz, the only way they can get sick is if their out in the rain or not fed. You can buy chickens from from Lilia at the chicken farm.
Cost: 1,500g
Feed: 10g per feeding 
Medicine: 1,000g 
Mayonnaise Maker: 20,000g (From Blacksmith)

Sheep:
Sheep are a little more expensive than chickens, and they dont produce wool everyday, but they still bring in a good profit. They make wool every 7 days or so, and the wool can be turrned into a yarnball with the yarn maker. Sheep eat fodder or grass that you can get just by cutting grass you have planted. Also when sheep get sick you have to give them medicine, just like the chickens. You can also breed sheep with a special potion bought at the farm. You buy sheep from the cow and sheep farm.
Cost: 4,000g
Feed: Free (From grass) or 20g per meal
Miracle Potion: 
Medicine: 1,000g
Yarn Maker: 20,000g (From Blacksmith)

Cows:
Cows are the most expensive animals in the game, but they probably make you the best profit. They produce milk daily, when their fed daily. They eat fodder or grass just like the sheep. Also like the Sheep, they need medicene when they get sick.

Feed: Free from grass or 20g per meal

Medicine: 1,000g
Cheese Maker: 20,000g (From Blacksmith)

Dog:
Your dog is one of the easiest animals to take care of and your dog is free, but you dont make any money off them. Pick him up once a day and he will like you. Run around with him everyday and play fetch for him to get stronger. To call him and run around with him press L1.
Horse:
Your horse is much like the dog. You get your horse for free, and it doesn't need to be fed. You need to brush it once a day, and when its older, ride it around a lot. You can put your horse in the horse stable on rainy days if you like, he'll like you even more for this.
